At Cline Medical Group, we recognize the profound impact that animals can have on mental health. To support our patients' well-being, we are now providing evaluations and documentation for Emotional Support Animals (ESAs).

Understanding Emotional Support Animals

An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) offers comfort and companionship to individuals facing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, or PTSD. Unlike service animals, ESAs do not require specialized training but play a crucial role in alleviating emotional distress.

Benefits of Having an ESA

Research indicates that the presence of an ESA can: (UMass Chan Medical School)

  • Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression

  • Provide a sense of purpose and routine

  • Enhance social interaction and decrease feelings of isolation

  • Offer unconditional support and companionship (Calm Clinic, Clarity Clinic - Chicago)

How Cline Medical Group Can Assist

Our licensed healthcare professionals conduct thorough evaluations to determine if an ESA is a suitable component of your treatment plan. If deemed appropriate, we will provide the necessary documentation to support your need for an ESA, which can be beneficial for housing accommodations under the Fair Housing Act.
